Preceded in death by sisters, Sarah Berdine, Rose Mitchell and Theresa Pullin. Survived by wife of 60 years, Margaret "Margie" (Unger); daughter, Donna, married to James Meinecke; grandson, James Meinecke; brother, Nunzio; and sisters, Antoinette Foster and Carmella Folan. U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Retired from Axle Plant of Bethlehem Steel Corp. after 40 years of service. An avid golfer at Berkley Hills Golf Course and he loved his family. Member of ISDA Joseph Johns Lodge 214, Pvt. Thomas R. Lewis Jr. VFW Post 7022, Seward. Longtime member of Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, concelebrants, Very Rev. Paul E. Turnbull, V.F., and the Rev. Bonaventure Midile. Friends received from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd. Entombment, Grandview Mausoleum.

Preceded in death by parents; brother, Joseph Medile; and sisters, Sara Berdine, Theresa Pullin and Rose Mitchell. Survived by daughter, Kathleen, married to Gregory Kalidonis, McMurray, Pa.; son, Samuel, married to Gemma (Lueje), Severna Park, Md.; sisters, Antoinette Foster, Johnstown, and Carmella Folan, Las Vegas; and sister-in-law, Margaret Medile, Johnstown. Also survived by grandchildren, Peter, married to Stacey (Trisket); Sara and Adam Kalidonis; and Samantha, Andrew and Dominic Medile; and friend, Irene Bistransky. Graduated from Johnstown High School, Class of 1946. Served in the U.S. Army from 1946-1948. Employed by Brooklyn Hospital Equipment Co. and was shop steward for Local Labor Union 910. Owned and operated Medile's Dairy Store, Moxham. Agent for John Hancock Insurance Company. Office manager for Pennsylvania State Workmen's Insurance Fund. Workshop coordinator and aide for Congressman John P. Murtha. Mr. Medile was a lifelong volunteer for the Democratic Party of Cambria County, most recently in the office of Ed Wojnaroski Sr. He was a lifetime member of St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, Johnstown, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2008, with Nunzio's cousin, the Rev. Bonaventure Midile officiating. Friends received from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 30, at Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd., Johnstown. Interment, St. Anthony Cemetery.
